Tongmu Guan "Jin Jun Mei" – A Regal Tea from the Heart of Wuyi Mountain

In the mist-shrouded heights of Tongmu Guan, the sacred birthplace of black tea, this exceptional Jin Jun Mei thrives—a tea that dazzles with its golden brilliance and profound complexity. The ancient tea bushes, some over 80 years old, root themselves in mineral-rich soil, breathing the pristine air of this UNESCO-protected mountain forest. Only the most tender buds, adorned with their signature golden down, are handpicked for this tea.

Upon brewing, an aroma unfolds reminiscent of wild mountain honey and Rose, laced with a subtle  longan fruits. The first sip surprises with a velvety texture and a sweetness evoking candied chestnuts and ripe lychees. Yet this tea is no simple pleasure—it tells a story. With each infusion, its character evolves: initial floral notes give way to deeper flavors of roasted pumpkin, cedarwood, and a whisper of minerality, the hallmark of old-growth tea bushes ("Lao Cong").
