"Square Pot" 四方壶
National-Level Craft Artist: Bao Yuhua
Made from authentic, family-stored 底槽青Dicaoqing clay, 170cc, with parallel 9-hole water flow.

~This teapot presents a perfectly square form, featuring a novel design that blends square and circular elements. The knob, spout, and lid all exhibit a square shape. The body is intricately carved with delicate patterns, while the reverse side bears the inscription  "Fragrant Tea Overflows" (茶香四溢), evoking the rich aroma of fine tea.

底槽青 Characteristics of Dicaoqing Clay Teapots

Dicaoqing (底槽青) is a premium Zisha clay from Yixing, highly prized for its:

Rich Texture – Natural golden flecks ("chicken eyes") within the clay add visual depth.

Excellent Breathability – Enhances tea flavor over time, ideal for pu'erh and oolong.

Smooth, Dense Finish – Fires to a warm purplish-brown hue with a refined jade-like sheen.

Thermal Stability – Retains heat well, optimizing tea extraction.

A well-crafted Dicaoqing pot develops a deeper patina with use, making it a favorite among collectors.
