Xi Gui Ancient Tree Raw Pu-erh – The "Black Pearl" of Lincang
Xi Gui Ancient Tree Raw Pu-erh is an extraordinary tea. Not without reason is it called the "Black Pearl": Xi Gui leaves are notably dark, elongated, and easily distinguishable from other cultivars. Its aroma and flavor are exceptional, earning it the nickname "Lincang's Laobanzhang."
Our Xi Gui Gushu Sheng was harvested in spring 2024 from 400-year-old trees in Manglushan. The red soil and subtropical monsoon forest environment of Manglu Mountain provide unique growing conditions for tea trees. The tea is traditionally hand-processed, and the family's tea trees are never artificially pruned, resulting in a more substantial and flavor-rich tea.
The infusions carry the power of a Laobanzhang yet the softness of a Yiwu tea. What truly sets Xi Gui apart is its orchid-like fragrance—its rock sugar sweetness could rival that of a Bingdao tea. Our Xi Gui elegantly combines the finest qualities of great ancient tree teas, unfolding over more than ten infusions with varying intensity.
As the Chinese say, drinking Xi Gui is like "discovering a spring beneath the tongue."
