This Jianshui Zitao teapot is a masterpiece of traditional Yunnan craftsmanship, entirely handmade from prized purple clay (Zitao) —a dense, mineral-rich ceramic revered for its unique interaction with tea. The wide 6 cm lid opening makes it ideal for large-leaf teas (eg, Pu-erh, Dian Hong or White tea), allowing easy loading and optimal leaf expansion.

Jianshui Purple Clay (Zitao) : Sourced from Yunnan's ancient kiln sites, this clay fires to a distinctive black-brown hue with a natural, unglazed texture. Over time, it develops a lustrous patina that enhances tea flavor retention.

Thermal Properties : The dense clay structure retains heat evenly , gently steeping tea without scorching, while micro-pores subtly oxygenate the brew for a smoother taste.
