The Mingqian green tea "Xi Hu Long Jing No. 43" This year we offer you in three quality levels (1544), all harvested on March 20. Due to the altitude, the leaf material becomes increasingly tender with increasing quality. The infusions vary significantly.

The Gold Grade Longjing (1544_2) consists of buds and half-opened leaves. We were particularly impressed by the milky-creamy consistency of the infusions . Compared to the silver level, the Gold Longjing sweeter, denser, the bean aroma is weaker.

With Longjing, a little hot water (80-85°C) should be added beforehand to soften the leaves. This method can also be tried with other Mingqiang teas if the tea is rich in buds and the buds are firm when dry. The water should just cover the tea. Then comes the actual infusion.
Whether steeped or not, we recommend that the water temperature for infusions not exceed 90°C; 80-85°C is generally just right. The ratio of 1g of tea to 50ml of water may be slightly higher for smaller vessels. A brewing time of 30-45 seconds for the first infusion is usually appropriate. Remove the lid from the gaiwan during the breaks between infusions.
