Bohetang Pu-Erh Tea has only existed since 2011. Although the ancient tea gardens were discovered in the 1990s in the Lao Mansa area of Yiwu by the Yao ethnic minority, they were not commercially utilized at the time. The local residents primarily made a living by cultivating caoguo, a spice plant from the ginger family. Back then, tea had little market value and was only picked for personal use, if at all.

The value of this tea region was later recognized, with a small area of primary rainforest on the northern slope standing out due to its high-quality old-growth tea trees. Wild mint plants growing near the pond in this premium location, along with the tea's cooling minty taste, inspired the poetic name "Mint Pond"—thus, Bohetang was born.

We offer you rare Bohetang cakes from the inaugural pressing year!

These grand teas are well worth brewing in a Yixing teapot
