磻溪寿眉 2017 Lao Shou Mei, Panxi, Fuding Fujian, 2x 75g Pack

The very sight of the sun-dried Shou Mei is a delight. It appears vibrant even after multiple infusions in the Gaiwan, with leaves often remaining whole. Numerous stems are present in the tea—a key factor for its later-developed flavor. The excellent storage conditions (until recently in Fuding) have further enhanced the quality of these Shou Mei teas.

With notes of rock sugar and citrus, honey, a touch of peach, and delicate florals, the tea presents itself as lively, precise, creamy, soft, and slightly lush. This Shou Mei remains delicious and approachable across multiple infusions—we enjoyed eight steepings, a testament to its enduring quality.
